Unparalleled Expertise

In today’s ever changing economic, social, and regulatory environment, the packaging and transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste can create uncertainty about the shipment of environmentally sensitive materials.   MHF Services is dedicated to providing shippers of hazardous and non-hazardous materials with the industry expertise, state-of-the-art equipment, packaging knowledge, and strategically located facilities to ensure that hazardous and non-hazardous material is managed safely and economically.

Our Approach

MHF's approach not only meets but exceeds expectations and regulations—while also reducing carbon emissions and risk.  Our ability to understand regulations and how they impact packaging and logistical strategies is a critical component that differentiates MHF Services in the markets we serve. We offer our services directly to generators and remedial contractors as well as to various segments of the hazardous waste market targeting event (“one-time”) bulk solid (soil) remediation projects principally involving the packaging and rail transportation of RCRA or TSCA regulated waste.

Our Scope of Work

  • Packaging and transportation of waste from a direct rail served site
  • Packaging, transload, and transportation of waste from a non rail served site near one of our transload locations (open air transload from dump truck to gondola via a ramp)
  • Packaging (durable or flexible containers), transfer, and transportation of waste from a non rail served site at a location idendified by MHF Services or its client

In addition, we continue to explore alternative gondola railcar loading strategies and technologies to enhance our service capabilities.

We Offer Reliability

MHF Services has the financial stability to perform in these often economically volatile markets:

  • Strong financial backing of a private equity firm with experience in the material transport industry
  • A viable commercial banking relationship
  • A broad customer base that includes several of the top companies in our target markets
  • Bonding capabilities
  • A sound balance sheet
  • Proven ability to deliver on long-term, multi-million dollar contracts

Safe, Compliant Operations

A testament to the success of our operational experience in transporting environmentally sensitive materials is that MHF has twice received the CSX Transportation Chemical Safety Excellence Award—in 2008 and again in 2009.  These awards from one of the nation’s leading Class I railroads reflect that MHF provides not only logistical services supported by strong quality programs but also packaging systems that are fully compliant with DOT and FRA regulations for hazardous materials transport.
